Channel 10 is bringing Big Brother back to its early 2000s vibe. The new season returns to Dreamworld, the original location for the first 11 seasons (2001–2014).
“The Big Brother house is synonymous with Dreamworld, so bringing the OG format to its OG location feels right,” said Mel Tracina, the new host and Nova radio personality.
The show is returning to basics with live nominations and live evictions, aiming to recapture the original Big Brother experience.
Regarding Big Brother Uncut, the adults-only late-night spin-off that aired during the first six seasons, Tracina confirmed it will not return this year.
“This year there’s no return of Big Brother Up Late (or Uncut),” Tracina stated. “We’re keeping it PG.”
Fans will still have access to a 24/7 live stream of the house, but with content strictly moderated to meet broadcast standards.
“That will be moderated to make sure that everything we broadcast is up to broadcast standards,” Tracina explained.
This decision is likely to disappoint viewers who fondly remember sneaking glimpses of the adults-only content featuring nudity or late-night drama.
Big Brother’s revival returns to its roots at Dreamworld with live content, but the adult-only Uncut version will not be revived, maintaining a family-friendly approach.
