Dominic Connelly, 24, is accused of killing his grandmother and setting her house on fire. He is also charged with stabbing a Craven County Sheriff’s deputy.
The search for Connelly remains active. Authorities believe he is on foot, possibly moving north through woods and fields to avoid capture, according to the Craven County Sheriff’s Office.
Local, state, and federal agencies are involved, deploying both air and ground units. Investigators reported Connelly was spotted on a trail camera near 10000 U.S. 17 Highway in Vanceboro, North Carolina, close to the Craven-Beaufort county line.
Residents are urged to review their surveillance and trail camera footage for any signs of Connelly’s whereabouts.
Connelly is considered armed and dangerous. Officials warn against approaching him and advise anyone who spots him to call 911 immediately.
“We will not stop,” said Craven County Sheriff Corporal Kelly Cox in a statement directed to Connelly.
