After Charlie Kirk's tragic death, his wife Erika shared how she explains their loss to their young children. Erika Kirk, widow of the conservative activist who was assassinated nearly two months ago at a Utah University event, opened up about coping as a family during an interview with Fox News' Jesse Watters.
Erika revealed that their three-year-old daughter and one-year-old son frequently ask about their father. She described how her daughter especially wants to communicate with her dad.
“Are they still asking, 'where is daddy?'” host Watters asked.
Erika responded, “Yes, my daughter continues to ask. But it is really sweet because I keep explaining to her a few things. And I said, if you ever want to talk to Daddy, you just look up to sky and start talking to him. He can hear you.”
Emotional, Erika fought back tears as she recounted her conversation with their daughter.
“And I told her, I said, you know Daddy is in heaven. She goes, 'You think I could go sometime?'
I said, 'Baby, we will all go one day. We will all go one day.'”
Erika's heartfelt words reveal the tender ways she helps her children understand and process their father's absence while nurturing hope and connection.
