Ministry of Defence Sets Criteria for Critically Important Defence Enterprises
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has introduced updated criteria for identifying critically important defence enterprises and opened the application process for companies aiming to gain this status.

Existing Status Holders Do Not Need to Reapply
Enterprises already recognized as critically important, with valid status, are not required to reapply or update any documentation.
Criteria for Critically Important Status
An enterprise is considered critically important if more than 50% of its total production consists of defence-related products and it either fulfils or participates in state defence contracts.
This status also applies to companies that:
- Receive government grants under technology and innovation development programmes.
- Manage and coordinate the operations of state-owned defence plants.
Additional Qualification Options
Other enterprises not included in the above categories may qualify for the status by meeting at least three of the specified criteria.
Companies that meet at least two of these criteria may be designated as critically important for the economy and public life during wartime.
