Glenn Close on Avoiding Repetition in Her Career

Glenn Close expressed, “I don't want to repeat myself because I think I'd be really bored.” Despite the many iconic women involved in Ryan Murphy’s projects, Close had not yet worked with him—until Hulu’s All’s Fair.

Joining Hulu’s All’s Fair

Close plays Dina, a powerful lawyer at an all-female firm featuring Kim Kardashian, Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash, and Naomi Watts. At first, she was intimidated until she grasped the show's tone, after which it became enjoyable.

“I was intimidated until I started to understand the tone. And once I understood the tone, then it became really fun.”

The diverse energy and experience of this cast promised something unique and fostered a strong bond among them.

“To bring all that energy...and all that experience together is bound to create something really unique.”
“This group of women, they’ll be my friends for the rest of my life.”

Choosing Roles for New Exploration

Close keeps working not only because of her immense talent but also because she seeks new challenges. She stated, “I’m basically up for anything as long as it represents a new exploration.”

Upcoming Projects

She will soon appear in Rian Johnson’s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which is releasing the same week as All’s Fair. Close humorously noted the coincidence.

“I got two Ryans in the same week. It was like, what?”
