New Postmaster and Location Announced for Boyle Post Office
The Boyle post office will move to a new location early next year, with a new postmaster appointed to oversee operations. An Post confirmed that Paul Kelly Jr., from Kelly’s Supervalu Boyle, has accepted the position.
The post office will relocate from Shop Street to the Supervalu Shopping Centre on Elphin Street, approximately 450 meters from its current site. The new unit, situated within Kelly’s Supervalu, offers a central and convenient location for the community.
The opening of the new premises is scheduled for February 3rd. Late last year, An Post engaged the auctioneering firm Cushman Wakefield to manage the sale of 14 town centre post office properties, including the Boyle building, which was listed at €130,000.
An An Post spokesperson explained, “When we placed the former post office on the market, it was on the understanding that it would continue to function as a post office. However, a change of contractor can lead to a relocation, as in this case.”
The spokesperson added that the company considers the new location a fortunate outcome, offering residents of Boyle an upgraded and modern postal facility.
