The Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) and Toronto Hydro have marked a significant achievement in expanding electric mobility by activating the 500th public electric vehicle (EV) charging station within Canada’s largest municipally owned network.
The latest charger is situated at Green P Carpark 504 on Willingdon Blvd., further enhancing EV access throughout the city. Since 2020, TPA and Toronto Hydro have collaborated to grow this infrastructure, with Toronto Hydro initially launching the network before transferring ownership to TPA in 2023.
“Reaching 500 energized EV charging stations is a testament to what strong partnerships can achieve,” stated Jana Mosley, President & CEO of Toronto Hydro.
“Our mission is clear: to create a seamless mobility experience that delivers on Choice, Ease, and Speed for our customers,” said Scott Collier, President of TPA.
This expansion aims to improve accessibility to EV chargers and promote the adoption of electric vehicles across Toronto, supporting the city’s commitment to sustainability.
