Netflix began the countdown to Stranger Things Day by releasing new character posters from Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer's Stranger Things 5. The anticipation builds as the final season is set to premiere later this month, making tomorrow’s event even more significant.
To celebrate, Netflix unveiled key art posters featuring the major characters of the season, generating excitement among fans.
"We spent a full year filming this season," Ross Duffer shared at Netflix's 2025 slate event. "By the end, we had captured over 650 hours of footage. So, needless to say, this is our biggest and most ambitious season yet. It's like eight blockbuster movies. It's pretty, pretty insane."
Matt Duffer added, "At the same [time], we think it's — or hope it's — our most personal story. It was super intense and emotional to film — for us and for our actors we've been with for so long. And we've been making it together for almost 10 years now. The show means so much to all of us, and everyone put their hearts and souls into it."
This deep emotional connection adds to the series' compelling nature and builds anticipation for its conclusion.
The final season of Stranger Things promises to be a massive, emotional finale, with extensive footage and heartfelt performances marking nearly a decade of collaboration.
