The San Jose Sharks secured a convincing 6-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday, improving their recent form with four wins in six games.
"Our penalty kill was really good tonight. So that helps," said Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky. "I thought our game got better as the game went on."
The Kraken, finishing a five-game homestand with a 2-1-2 record, managed just one goal from Ryan Winterton, who scored his first NHL goal. Joey Daccord made 15 saves before being substituted by Matt Murray, who recorded three saves in relief.
"Disconnected in a bunch of different areas. Our structure wasn't good enough tonight," Kraken coach Lane Lambert commented.
Celebrini opened the scoring 1:08 into the first period, receiving a pass from Toffoli and shooting a wrist shot that beat Daccord's blocker.
"I was just in the slot and just there to put it in," Celebrini said. "[Smith and Toffoli], they did a great job, getting on their D and forcing a turnover."
Winterton tied the game at 1-1 with a goal at 16:30, but the Sharks pulled away decisively afterward.
