As part of the Audubon Mural Project, the mural features White-crowned Sparrows perched and flying around native plants such as sweet goldenrod, flowering dogwood, and blueberry shrubs.
The project is a collaboration between NYC Parks' Art in the Parks program, NYC Parks GreenThumb, the National Audubon Society, and local artists to raise awareness about birds vulnerable to extinction from climate change.
