Remembrance Day Ceremony at Queen's University
On November 11, the Queen's community will gather to remember and mark Remembrance Day, with classes cancelled from 10:30 to 11:30 am.
This year is particularly significant, as it marks 80 years since the end of the Second World War, a conflict that claimed an estimated 70 to 85 million lives.
Ceremony Details
- The ceremony will take place in Grant Hall, starting at 10:50 am, with doors opening at 10:30 am.
- Interfaith Chaplain Erin Burns will lead the service.
- A procession to the 5th Field Company Plinth to lay wreaths will follow the service.
- A fellowship and refreshments will be hosted by the Queen’s Military and Veterans Network in Wallace Hall.
Memorial Room
The Memorial Room, located in the JDUC near Wallace Hall, honours the Queen’s Fallen from WWI and WWII and will be open for quiet contemplation on Remembrance Day.
