EU Adopts 19th Package of Sanctions on Russia
The Council of the European Union adopted a sweeping 19th package of sanctions on October 23, targeting key sectors that fuel Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine.
The package includes 69 individual listings and numerous economic restrictive measures targeting the energy, finance, and military industrial complex sectors.
- Strengthening control over the movement of Russian diplomats across the EU
- Taking further measures against those responsible for the abduction of Ukrainian children
- Imposing further measures on Belarus to restrict its support for the Russian war effort
The 19th package of sanctions was adopted by the European Commission on September 19.
