Work begins on Pacific Highway interchange and overpass

Pacific Highway Interchange and Overpass Project

Work has commenced on a $60 million interchange project on the Pacific Highway at Coopernook, near Forster, NSW, to improve safety for motorists and truck drivers.

The current intersections of Harrington and Coopernook roads with the Pacific Highway pose a safety risk, with 10 crashes reported between 2016 and 2022, including one fatality. The intersections require motorists to make a right turn across two lanes of traffic travelling at 100km/h.

The new interchange, funded by the Australian and NSW governments, will feature an overpass connecting Harrington and Coopernook, enhancing local connectivity and reducing the risk of accidents.

No more crashes on Pacific Highway.
