Knoxville Immigrant Advocacy Group Calls for Release of Undocumented Member

Allies of Knoxville’s Immigrant Neighbors (AKIN), an immigrant and refugee advocacy group, is calling for the release of Alejandro Guizar Lozano from ICE custody.

Lozano, a 32-year-old undocumented immigrant, was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in Putnam County, according to AKIN.

“It’s still quite a shock that he was detained,” said Nat Morales with AKIN. “As resilient immigrant communities, we always have each other’s backs.”
