Glen Powell, known for Anyone But You, stars in the latest adaptation of Stephen King's 1982 novel The Running Man, following Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1987 version. On The Graham Norton Show, Glen shared details about filming a revealing half-naked scene in the new action thriller.
Glen described having to abseil down eight stories of a building in freezing weather while half-naked and wearing a tight harness. He admitted:
"I had to abseil down eight storeys of a building in freezing conditions half naked and wearing a harness which cinched me – believe me nothing looked good."
He also revealed a production member’s unusual role during the shoot:
"The crazy thing I found out after was that there was a guy whose only job was to stop me kicking a window, which means he was looking up my skirt all night, I wondered what he was seeing take after take."
Glen was left embarrassed but grateful after receiving advice from the legendary stuntman Tom Cruise. The Top Gun star, aged 63, called Glen and gave him a detailed lesson on how to handle dangerous stunts.
"Tom rang me to give me the low down and, what I thought would be a ten min call, lasted two and half hours – he basically told me how not to die."
Tom also told Glen he didn't "look cool" during the stunts, offering expert tips to improve his performance.
Glen Powell humorously shared his challenging half-naked stunt experience and valuable safety tips from Tom Cruise while filming The Running Man.
