Mike Smith, 53, known for his role as “Bubbles” in the Canadian cult mockumentary Trailer Park Boys, has been charged with sexual assault. The alleged incident occurred in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, in December 2017.
The charges were filed in Nova Scotia Provincial Court in October, prompting Smith to step down from his position at Trailer Park Boys Inc.
“We are aware of the allegation concerning Mike Smith dating back to 2017 and take such matters seriously. We recognize how difficult an allegation of this nature is for all involved. Out of respect for the legal process, we will not comment further on the case.”
Smith has been a core member of the Trailer Park Boys cast since 2001, alongside Robb Wells and John Paul Tremblay. In 2013, he acquired the rights to the franchise.
Filming for the show’s 13th season concluded in August 2025 and is scheduled to air in 2026, marking the series’ 25th anniversary.
