Free Transit for Veterans on Remembrance Day

In recognition of their service and sacrifice, TransLink will offer free transit to veterans and active military personnel on Tuesday, November 11, Remembrance Day.

Eligible Customers for Free Transit

These individuals can access free transit by presenting a badge, military ID, Veteran’s Service Card, or by wearing their uniform. Veterans and other eligible passengers are not required to tap their Compass Card for buses and HandyDART trips. Accessible fare gates at SkyTrain and SeaBus stations will remain open starting at 8 a.m.

Other Observances and Services

TransLink also acknowledges National Indigenous Veterans Day on Saturday, November 8, honoring Indigenous veterans and their contributions to peace and security worldwide.

The Royal Canadian Legion will be distributing poppies by donation at various transit hubs in Metro Vancouver.

Customers are encouraged to use public transit to attend Remembrance Day ceremonies across the region.
